This is an online gateway to Australian visual arts and craft, created by NAVA, the National Association for the Visual Arts. The site presents a framework of the Australian Artworld (structural framework of organisations and other entities to show how the sector works), Artists and their work, news & views, practical advise and a search directory, which contains artists, organisations and links. The search directory contains more than 1,600 Australian cultural websites, over 820,000 screens of information.

Object is one of Australia's leading cultural organisations. Since its inception in 1964, Object has been consistently expanding and diversifying to achieve its goal to promote the very best new craft and design in Australia. Object's various programs include exhibitions of craft and design, a design publication and retail outlets for contemporary gifts and homewares.

Arts Access is one of Victoria's peak arts organisations. All programs involve improving disability awareness in the community and improving access to public arts and cultural venues and facilities. Their artistic program is about creating opportunities for people to participate in some creative activities, such as visual and performing arts. Their training program delivers customised training to raise awareness of disability issues among people working in the arts and entertainment industries, from customer service staff to management and policy makers. The ticket service and the training program at Arts Access especially focus on encouraging positive change in the community. Their vision is for 'a community that provides equal access, choice and active participation in the arts for all people'.

The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art is Melbourne's leading contemporary art gallery, presenting the latest and most significant artwork by living artists from around the world to Melbourne audiences, and commissions new artworks by local and international artists.

It is the ACP's mission to promote and enrich the understanding of photo-based art in Australia and this is achieved through a dynamic mix of exhibition, education and publication. In its blend of activities and range of photographic media, the Centre is unique in Australia. They also publish the photography magazine Photofile.

Craftsouth is a Centre for Contemporary Craft and Design representing and promoting its membership through the delivery of specialist services - including accreditation, a referral service, one-on-one professional assistance and professional development program. Onine it also lists a number of useful resources for craftsmakers.

The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government's arts funding and advisory body. They have a list, with web links, of a huge number of art organizations.

Artlink covers contemporary art in Australia and through its networking with the national and international scene, provides a context for evaluation and analysis. It regularly produces Special Issues on specific areas, and undertakes major theme-based features. The China Phenomenon issue compares and contrasts the work of the diasporic artists with those still living in Mainland China who are also participating in the international arena.

Artspace fosters the development of challenging new installation-based work, including projects in video, performance, sound, interactive and other forms of developing technologies. They also operate four residential and eight non-residential studios on-site in the Gunnery Building. The Residency Program provides local, national and international artists with the space and time to develop new ideas and work, as well as enabling the construction of major site-specific works for the Artspace Gallery Program.

Gertrude Contemporary offers a range of residency programs for visiting international and interstate, artists and curators, for periods of between two weeks to three months. Participants in the residency program stay in Gertrude Contemporary’s fully-appointed residential apartment/studio, Studio 18, that is located on the top floor of Gertrude Contemporary’s gallery complex. During their residency the participants will gain opportunities to become involved in Gertrude Contemporary’s cultural community, pursue independent studio practice, and on occasion engage with cultural exchange projects.
