  • The Kala Fellowship

    International competition open to artists from around the world. Artists producing innovative work in book arts, electronic/digital media (video, sound, animation, etc.), installation art, social practice, photography, and printmaking are encouraged to apply. Nine artists will receive a fellowship consisting of: $3,000 cash award, up to six months of studio residency at Kala Art Institute, 24/7 access to Kala's studio, a free class or equivalent tutorial sessions, an exhibition opportunity at the Kala gallery of the artwork created during the residency. The Fellowship does not include housing. £15 submission fee.

  • Creative Initiatives 2012

    Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop is seeking applicants for their 2012 Creative Initiative. The awards have been created to provide funding and assistance to artists wishing to develop and realise innovative artistic projects. Proposals should be ambitious, innovative and have a specific set of outcomes. The award offers a fee of £2,400 and a studio space at ESW for up to 6 months. Specialist support will be provided by ESW.

  • Digital art commission

    Exeter Phoenix and the University of Exeter’s Centre for Additive Layer Manufacturing are calling artists currently working in any medium who are interested in investigating ways that 3D printing technology could be used to develop or bring new possibilities and ways of making into their practice. No previous experience is required but basic computer skills will be beneficial. One artist will be selected to develop a further commission and exhibition opportunity.

  • Outside the White cube

    The organisers of the annual Cork Street Open Exhibition are announcing the theme for the inaugural Bermondsey exhibition: Outsiders' Celebration of Sport. All media except reproductions, film and video are eligible for exhibition.Cash prizes will be awarded by the judges across all categories. Proceeds from the Exhibition will benefit Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people, who also run a series of training and art workshops in the adjoining studios. Entry fee: £20 for the first submission, and £12 for each additional entry.

  • Threadneedle Prize

  • Four Corners’ Lab Projects Residency

    Four Corners’ Lab Projects offers a new, production-based residency programme for artists working in film and/or photography. Three artists in 2012 will be supported to develop and produce a body of new work using dedicated space and facilities at Four Corners. The residency provides: a fee of £4,500, up to £5,000 worth of facilities, equipment, studio, room space and production materials, an in-house mentor, showcasing on Four Corners’ website, and workshops on digital media innovation. Artists are invited to take an innovative approach to the use of Four Corners’ facilities for the residency programme. To apply and for further information please email Four Corners'.

  • Walpole Park Artist in Residence

    Ealing Council is seeking an artist educator in residence at Walpole Park, taking place over 30 days between mid June - late August. The selected artist will deliver a total of 6 educational workshops to young people in the local community, leading towards a small showcase of artworks or a modest event within the park. While there is no expectation to exhibit the artist's own work as part of the residency, the selected artist should focus on the production of new work and maintain a presence within the park. The post has a fixed fee of £2,200 (including all materials). Please note that the residency provides studio space, rather than residential accommodation. The artist must have up-to-date public liability cover for up to 2 million and will be subject to a Full Enhanced CRB disclosure.

  • Sharpham Trust Residency

    The Sharpham Trust comprises of 550 acres of sustainably farmed land following a stretch of the River Dart, near Totnes in South Devon and the Artist in Residence programme is being launched as part of their 30th anniversary. The residency would be suited to someone who would value the opportunity to focus on their artistic process and development of new work, the opportunity is open to artists from across different disciplines, covering both traditional and contemporary work, including visual arts, sculpture, poetry, music, theatre and crafts.Accommodation and workshop space will be provided for 6 weeks. The resident artist will be supported by a £1,200 stipend (£200.00 per week) towards food, subsistence and travel costs, as well as an £800 budget for materials, if required.

  • Artists' international development fund

    The programme offers early stage development opportunities for individual freelance and self employed artists based in England to spend time building links with artists, organisations and/or creative producers in another country. Artists are able to apply for small grants (minimum of £1,000 up to £5,000) and can only apply to the Artists' international development programme once in any financial year. The Artists' international development programme will have three rounds for applications in each financial year from March 2012 until February 2015.   • The Jyväskylä Centre for Printmaking - Finland

    The Jyväskylä Centre for Printmaking welcomes printmakers to apply for one month residency in October / November 2012. The main selection criteria will be the quality of art and motivation to work in the local artists' community, Free accomodation, free use of the printshop and a grant of 400 Euros will be provided.

  • Guest Projects Open Submissions

    Guest Projects is an initiative conceived by Yinka Shonibare to offer an opportunity for projects of any artistic discipline to have access to a free space with office facility for one month. Experimental projects are particularly welcome. There will be three projects a year running from January to June 2013. Winning proposals will be given flexibility in their use of the space. If you can produce your own show, covering all production costs, which include: funding, publicity, power costs and invigilating costs, then please submit a proposal into the Guest Projects Proposal Box outside the gallery plus an online digital version.

  • Joya: arte & ecología - Spain

    Joya: arte + ecología is interested in welcoming proposals for multimedia work that evidences light dependent reactions upon the environment. The submission should be specific to the alpine desert climate of Almería, Andalucía, which is a microcosm for the effects of desertification within Europe. Projects should aim to utilise the abundance of naturally occuring materials at Joya: arte + ecología within the Parque Natural Sierra María-Los Vélez as well as the physical landscape. The Residency includes 2 weeks studio and outside space, meals and travel from Europe. Selected artist will be announced end of June.
