The Medusa Art Gallery was established in 1979 by Maria Demetriades. The Gallery hosts environments, performances, video, photography and exhibitions of painting and sculpture. From the outset, the majority of the gallery's associates were young artists in parallel with internationally acclaimed names such as Takis, Mario Prassinos, Harold Stevenson, Robert Matta and Alexis Akrithakis.â?¨ The Medusa Art Gallery has hosted the first solo exhibitions of Nakis Tastsioglou, Anton, Yorgos Rorris, Marianna Strapatsaki, Maria Grigoriadi, Eleni Zouni, Lina Bebi, Panayotis Linardakis, Babis Venetopoulos and others. In recent years the gallery has been focusing on Greek artists and makes efforts to promote them beyond the Greek borders, through collaborations with art galleries abroad or with the organizers of major international shows.

The Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, a privately owned commercial gallery, (ITCAC) (at 48 Armatolon & Klefton Street) opened in 1988 and was the first multi-purpose space of its kind in Athens. The Center specializes in Greek and international contemporary art. Since 1988 it has covered a wide range of activities in its long presence in the Greek art scene, and has organized over 150 contemporary art exhibitions within its premises. This program has been complimented with a wide series of cultural events, extending from festivals, lectures, publications, book presentations, music events as well as poetry readings and theatre performances. Furthermore, the ITCAC has regularly participated in international art fairs including Art Basel, Art Frankfurt, ARCO, Art Cologne, Artissima, MiArt etc.

Within the framework of the exhibition policy of EMST, series of periodical exhibitions of open and explorative character are presented, on issues, investigations and quests of international contemporary art, individual works commissioned by the Museum, mid-career retrospectives of contemporary artists and historical retrospectives on the fields of painting, installations, photography, video, new media and "experimental" architecture.

Booze is a not for profit company running activities including dance theatre, underground performances, photo, painting, video art and other forms of artistic expressions.
