AIAV supports artists involved in a wide range of artistic fields such as music, art, dance and theatre. The residency is open to young and unestablished artists (no limitation on age or artistic disciplines). The Residence Program, lasting 50 days, provides the time and place for artists to experience new encounters and carry out experiments for their future projects. Artists have to be younger than 40 years old.

Resident artists sought annually for the Kamiyama International Village of Humanities and Arts, Japan. Every year for two months from September to November, three artists are invited to Kamiyama. During their stay, they create artworks which are displayed at an exhibition held in early November. Participating artists also hold workshops with local residents, participate in cultural events, and hold open studio days. Check website for updated information.
