The union represents permanently employed, contract and freelance workers within these sectors. BECTU offers a wide range of services to its more than 25,000 members, including negotiating pay, conditions, safety and contracts with employers, services and benefits for individual BECTU members, personal advice and representation of individual members with employers and publishing Stage Screen and Radio magazine ten times a year.

  • Redeye

    Redeye is the North West England Photography Network. It aims to make life easier for photographers in the region and beyond, by providing information, opportunities, events, training and professional development. An email update bulletin is sent out every month, containing news and opportunities for photographers. A printed newsletter, The Bigger Picture, contains more in-depth information, and is sent to all subscribers who supply their postal address details. This website holds an archive of these publications together with our advice such as 'Guidance on setting your Fees'. Finally anybody can email or phone redeye for help and advice on any photographic subject.

    The Octagon Galleries play host to a changing programme of contemporary and historical photographic exhibitions, holography display and museum of photography. Established in 1853, the galleries house one of the world's most important photographic collections. Membership is open to everyone with a real interest in photography - including newcomers, teachers, historians and scientists, as well as dedicated amateurs and full time professionals.

    Gomma Online is a portal for photographers, visual artists and designers. It has a comprehensive and searchable directory of links related to photography, visual arts, design, online magazines, blogs and photo-related downloads such as Model Release forms. The printed magazine is published occasionally, once or twice a year.

  • Stomper

    Stomper is curatorial project exploring the collaborative possibilities for art, music and moving image. With a history of carrying out events both nationally and internationally, it was originally launched in New York and has since expanded to the London art community. Stomper probes the convergence of art music and moving image by morphing between exhibition format, DJ, live performance and screenings.
