The National Sculpture Factory was set up in 1989 in Cork City. It was a response to a need from artists for a large-scale, well equipped studio space where artists could work in a safe, flexible environment. While artists work in the NSF they retain control over their work, but have access to the skills of a technician if they need help with technical processes and fabrication. As well as providing space to develop and make work NSF also provide a resource area, to enable artists to review and view other artists' work. All projects that we are involved with are documented and archived in this area. In the resource area there is an extensive slide collection as well as catalogues, art videos and art journals and access to computers.
