    This is a prestigious international residency programme for artists who have a considerable amount of professional experience. Accommodation and working space is offered in the renovated Recollets Convent on the banks of the St. Martin canal in the heart of Paris. A grant is also awarded. The scheme is run by the City Hall in Paris and the French Ministry of Foreign affairs. You must have at least 5 year professional experience to apply.

    CAMAC is an international multidisciplinary art centre close to ParisThe 'artist in residence' programme aims to bring together artists in mid or advanced career stages from all countries and all disciplines for a concentrated period of one to four months. Artists are invited to present their proposals along with detailed costs and objectives to Camac. Some residencies are self funded and once a year you can apply to the fully funded Unesco Auscberg Residency. Call for 2011 in November.

    The Camargo Foundation welcomes applications from composers, writers, and visual artists pursuing specific projects and from scholars pursuing studies in the humanities and social sciences relating to French and francophone cultures. The interdisciplinary residency program is intended to give fellows the time and space they need to realise their projects. Fellows are provided with accommodation on campus and a stipend of $2,500. Residencies are one semester (either early-September to mid-December or mid-January to the end of May). Qualified candidates from all countries and nationalities are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is January 12 for either semester of the following academic year.

    Outstanding mid-career professionals in the arts or the humanities are encouraged to apply for residencies from The Brown Foundation Fellows Program at the Dora Maar House, France. The Fellowship is directed by Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Stay can be from 1 to 3 months and the artist is free to focus on the creative aspect of their career. Accomodation, expenses paid for round-trip travel and a stipend is provided.

  • L'Abbaye de la Prée

    Artist-in-residence centre based in an abbey, at L'Abbaye de la Prée. The duration of the stay is normally eleven months (renewable once) from 1 October until 31 August of the following year. The Residence of La Prée is open to creators in the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, architecture, engraving, musical composition, photography, cinema, and audio-visual media, literature. Each residency is limited to the furnishing of living quarters, but does not cover meals or artistic materials.

    Contemporary art centre which each year hosts an artist in residence. The aim of this seven and a half month residency is to produce new works for group exhibition at La Galerie. Each year's residency is themed, they also have 1 residency for curators a year. La Galerie will participate to the funding of the project and will bring logistic support to its realisation (artist fees and production costs).

    The Parc Saint Lé ger- Centre d'Art Contemporain is offering three month residencies, twice a year, directed at emerging artists under the title 'Résidences Secondaires' (Seconde Homes). Deadline is May 31st of the year before the residencies dates. Ofered is a private apartment and a studio on the Art Center, a grant of 4000 euros including expenses and production and one return trip from home to the art center.
