Studios & Resources

Introduction

Despite the rise of freelancing and working from home, many artists still require - or choose to have - a studio in which to create their work.  Even though a studio might not be suitable or appropriate for every practice, it can be a vital place to work with materials which would be dangerous in other environments, or simply to get away from home for valuable thinking and research time.  ON the other hand, many visual artists and craftspeople could very well work in another environment - the a-n site provides a useful introduction to thinking about studios and whether or not a practice requires them as well as an informative guide on setting up a studio space.

This section aims to provide comprehensive listings and information on the various visual art and craft studio providers in London, divided into medium specific listings where appropriate.  General studio providers with no particular specialist equipment is in the Visual Arts & Crafts section.
