Camden People's Theatre

58-60 Hampstead Road, London NW1 2PY - Google Maps
Website: www.cptheatre.co.uk

Camden People's Theatre is a small studio performance space near Euston in north/central London. Since 1994 it has mostly specialised in physical, visual and unusual theatre from emerging practitioners. The programming policy and remit of the venue is now broadening to include live art / new performance, and exploratory practice in music, literature (predominantly poetry) and visual arts. The emphasis on providing a supportive space for practitioners in the early stages of their work remains, coupled with an intention also to be a space for more established artists to try out risky new work or work-in-progress; priority is given to work made collaboratively, within or between forms. They are now seeking expressions of interest from practitioners in one or more of these areas who might benefit from performance opportunities - particularly from live artists interested in presenting their work in a studio theatre space. Proposals for 'full-length' works (50 mins plus); for shorter pieces which could be double-billed; for even shorter (5-20 min) pieces which could be programmed as part of a mixed bill (i.e. alongside music, poetry etc.); for durational works and performance installations; and for performances or installations for CPT's foyer or window display space are currently being considered. Work by emerging and established practitioners is equally welcomed. Short mixed-bill slots are available from early June, and longer slots from September / October. Proposals should include a brief outline of the proposed work, a short bio / CV, web link if available, and any supporting images or other materials (if appropriate to the work).
