Working internationally has become just as important as working locally to artists and craftspeople in London - if not more so. Quite often, a practitioner can find opportunities more easily in Paris, Berlin or Rome - where there are also large concentrations or practitioners - than in London. The lure of working in a new country can be quite strong, and many artists who consider themselves to be 'London-based' may in fact operate out of another European city; with cheap flights and the internet, physical location can, to a point, seem redundant.
This section, intended to cover the main points within Artquest but with an international scope, should be looked at in the context of our expanding Artroute project, and Artquest is planning many more international projects throughout 2007 and beyond.
