This is a new award open to University of the Arts London alumni who have graduated in the last three years. If you are a fine artist, designer or crafts practitioner and are interested in working with young people you can apply. The purpose of the award is to allow two selected artists to continue their printmaking and graphic arts practice at London Print Studios and London Printworks Trust, and as part of the award you will be expected to develop and deliver a series of workshops for young people. Included in the award is a free studio for one year at ACAVA or Cockpit Arts, a fee of £5,000, professional development training, support and mentoring.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation supports projects which are genuinely original in their field. This included supporting professional artists and arts organisations, usually at an early research and development stage. 2008 will be the third and final year of the Arts in Public Spaces programme and, although existing commitments to a few projects in urban areas will be honoured, those in rural areas will be prioritised. The programme offers early research and development support for activities leading to imaginative and unusual projects devised for rural and non-conventional locations.

LUX Associate Artists Programme (AAP) is a unique free 12 month professional development course for artists working with the moving image, starting in November 2008. Drake Music and Furtherfield.org are seeking to commission a visual media artist as part of a season of workshops on the theme Connecting Across Difference. The artist will work closely with a composer and a technologist to devise and facilitate a week of workshops with young disabled musicians at the Roundhouse in Camden. This project is part of a larger season of work with to culminate in a mixed media performance at Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, co-created and performed by all participants in March 2009. With this in mind it is envisaged that the visual work will take the form of a live, generative or recorded video work to be projected as part of the final performance.

Expressions of interest are sought for a proposed public artwork for the atrium of the contemporary extension by MacAslan architects:78 Derngate. This is a dramatically remodelled townhouse by the great Glasgow designer and architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The contemporary extension houses a restaurant, gallery, workshop and garden spaces to the venue, and the commission is part of a new programme of contemporary development, including exhibitions and craft retail. Wexford County Council invites Expressions of Interest from artists of all disciplines, to apply for a place on a Public Art Panel, which is being formed for potential Per Cent for Art Residency Commissions which may arise during 2009. These commissions are open to artists practising in, but not limited to, architecture, visual art,music, literature, film, video, multimedia and sound art, as well as the various performing arts including theatre, dance, opera, performance and live art.
