Elsewhere, an arts production site and experimental museum in Greensboro, NC, is seeking cultural producers for residencies in 2009. Set within a former thrift store housing a 58-year collection of American surplus, thrift, and antiques, Elsewhere invites experimental creators to utilize the immense collection of objects to pursue site-specific projects. They review applications at the end of each month and their residency season runs from April through October. Residents pay $200 residency fee. Email to request an application.

Bamboo Curtain Studio is supported by the National Culture and Arts Foundation and the Council for Cultural Affairs in Taiwan. They offer six free recidency slots a year, comprising exhibition space and production residency; however the program does not provide travel and living cost. Bamboo Studio especially welcomes applicants working with cross discipline, environment, or community projects. All projects selected by the jury will be offered either a free exhibition and/or residency opportunities according to their proposals.

Helsinki International Curatorial Programme currently offers curatorial residencies in Helsinki for international visual arts curators. The programme is collaboration between HIAP - Helsinki International Artist-in-residence Programme and FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange. The aim of the programme is to provide curators with an opportunity to carry out research on Finnish fine art, to build contacts with Finnish art practitioners and cultural organisations and to develop international curatorial projects involving Finnish participants. The programme is open to curators worldwide with professional experience in organising visual arts projects. The fee includes the cost of travel to and from Helsinki with a grant for living expenses, studio accommodation and residency services. A small public event (workshop, lecture, open meeting) will also be organized during the residency. Applications are accepted throughout the year. The jury reviewing the applications meets at least twice a year. Applications should be sent by November 1st or May 1st to qualify for review at the following meeting.

The annual UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for artists program aims to promote the professional growth of young artists in different disciplines, through opportunities for further training and residencies in 29 countries. The UnLtd 4iP scheme will be giving awards of up to £5,000 to help individuals from across the UK to turn their digital media project into a reality. It supports great ideas for websites, games or mobile services which help people improve their lives in the following ways: Challenge people to see the world differently, Inspire change and empower communities Revolve around the participation and collaboration of users rather than passively consuming. Ideally projects will also align with the one of the following themes: Holding money and power to account; Using the web and mobile to keep an eye on how government, organisations and elected representatives use their power. Exploring how digital tools, games, applications and services can help people change their lives for the better whether thats their health, wellbeing, finances, work/life balance or dealing with unemployment. Bridge Guard

In the year 2001 the Maria Valeria bridge between Šturovo (Slovakia) and Esztergom (Hungary) was reopened. This ongoing Residency see an artists 'on guard' of the Bridge for three to 6 months. Besides being able to work on their own projects the artists main duties are: to work at least one afternoon with children, be available for discussions with the high school students at least once and to have at least one public appearance, be it an exhibition or performance. Fees will be 500 CHF per month, travelling expenses and insurance costs cannott be reimbursed.

ART@10GS has expanded and now has 4 London buildings with free exhibition space for emerging artists. Artists are welcome to email jpegs, websites, statements and CVs. All artforms are welcome and particularly large scale 2D work is needed. Transportation, installation, insurance and hanging is provided free of charge to artists, with the possibility of an opening night event. Artists receive 100% of the profit from sales of artwork, as no commission is taken. It is a revolving exhibition programme where the shows change every 3-6 months.

7.9 Cubic Metres is a free-standing structure within Stanley Picker Gallery, and operates as an autonomous gallery within the public gallery. The curator is now accepting proposals from artists practicing both in the UK and abroad, which respond to any one of the projects's four exhibition components throughout the year. The deadlines for submissions are the first Wednesday of every month, see their website for more details. The project puts art in vacant shop fronts on high street locations, transforming empty spaces into exciting art experiences. The atrium of the St James's Institute of Oncology, Leeds, is the main entrance hall of this new cancer hospital. From the outset, the intention has been to provide a beautiful and stimulating space for patients, staff and visitors. The Atrium Gallery provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work on a quarterly basis. The dimensions of the gallery wall are: length 26 metres x height 5.1 metres. They invite exhibition proposals from established and emerging artists, in all styles and media, that are of a calibre suitable for this prestigious space.
