Showing and selling

Virtually all visual artists will, at some stage in their careers, consider or require to exhibit their work in public.  This could be through a variety of means - in a traditional gallery space, online, via educational activities, in one-off projects or any other method of showing an audience your creative output.

Often (but not always) aligned with showing your work will be selling it - this is the most obvious way for object makers in the visual arts and crafts to make a living from their practice, but by no means the easiest or most productive.  When building your career there are a number of financial options open to artists to earn a living.

This section aims to cover as many of the showing a selling options a contemporary practitioner might face, along with practical advice and listings for places to go who can help, as well as the means to present yourself in the best light.
