La Tabacalera is a self-managed social space for theatre, dance, music, art, film and events. It was founded to encourage critical debate, experimentation and new models of business in the arts. They promote accessibility, communication and collaboration, providing free access to space, activities and resources. A board of assemblies meet to decide on the programme and determine the use of the space but those using the space are encouraged to take responsibility for its running.
