New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)

Website: http://www.nyfa.org/

NYFA provides the resources that artists and arts organisations need to thrive in New York, USA. Established in 1971, NYFA’s mission is to empower emerging artists and arts organisations across all disciplines at critical stages in their creative  development. NYFA provides fiscal sponsorship, online resources, professional development and grants.

We are developing an ad hoc programme of talks and panels looking at the similarities and differences between practice in New York and London, learning from each other’s contexts and challenges. Most recently, this led to the first panel discussion Finding Your Space, looking at the pressures of gentrification in cities and how they impact artists.
