Stichting Kunst en Complex

Website: http://www.kunstencomplex.nl/E_index.htm

In 1981, a group of visual artists from Rotterdam joined forces to run their studios by themselves and to work and exhibit together. They founded stichting Kunst & Complex (foundation Art & Complex). In 1988, the group took over an abandoned factory in an industrial area of the Rotterdam harbour. Today, the K&C-building accommodates 24 studio spaces for the 26 members of the foundation. In order to consolidate and extend valuable personal contacts with both Dutch and foreign artists, the foundation fitted up three extra spaces as workshops for artists’ residencies and developed a guest studio programme. Since 1988, more than 95 artists from all over the world have used these facilities. Studios can be rented for a period of 3-6 months. Applications are ongoing (no deadlines) and guidelines and application details are on the website (above) however preferably be submitted three months in advance.
