Cornbrook Creative announce an open call for artists and scientists to be part of ‘A Grand Exposition’ – a four day event exploring the blending of art, science and technology to take place in Manchester in October 2017. They are seeking submissions from Artists & Creative Technologists in Greater Manchester and the North West region. Opportunities include a £2.5k commission for a new ‘Sci-Art’ work developed through an artist-scientist collaboration, an exhibition of existing artworks and a programme of participatory “making” workshops and activities. Suitable works include but are not limited to interactive installations and sculptures; digital, visual & sonic arts; inventive DIY electronics and code based projects; screen- based or physical pieces – that explore scientific, mathematical and technological themes. The opportunity offers £2.5k for the commission and £500 per artist for the curated exhibition plus curatorial, logistical and technical support. A workshop and fabrication space in the venue to facilitate production of the exhibition and associated works for a 6 week build period (from September 2017) will also be available.
Expires: August 21, 2017
