Art on the Tideway Commission
As part of its Art on the Tideway programme, Tideway announces a series of commissions for the Thames Tideway Tunnel for London. This commission is for an artist to develop designs of the 15m-high bespoke ventilation columns for Carnwath Road Riverside and Acton Storm Tanks sites and create a smaller intervention at Hammersmith Pumping Station. The commissions will be bespoke and site-specific, responding to the heritage of the sites and integrated into the new public realm. The successful artist will work collaboratively with the design and engineering team to develop detailed proposals for the commissions and oversee the fabrication and installation at a later date. They welcome applications from artists working in all disciplines, though given the nature of commissions they ideally would like prior experience of working at scale and in three dimensions. Three shortlisted artists will be provided with a fee of £1,500 to develop an initial proposal to present to the selection panel. There is a fee of £63,500 for the selected artist for all three commissions.
