Art on the Tideway Commission
Tideway are looking to commission an artist to develop an integrated artwork, or series of artworks, for a new area of public land that will be created by the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel in King Edward Memorial Park, Wapping. Following the open call, three shortlisted artists will be provided with a fee of £1,000 to develop an initial proposal to present to the selection panel. There is a fee of £47,000 for the selected artist. Tideway are particularly interested in receiving applications from artists from within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, or from those who have a good knowledge of this part of London. They also welcome applications from artists with experience or interest in community engagement / socially engaged practice, although this is not a requirement.
