Artist in Residence at HMP Grendon
Website: https://www.ikon-gallery.org/about/jobs/
Ikon is inviting artists to apply for a three-year residency at HMP Grendon. Funded by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust, this is an exciting opportunity for an artist to work with the therapeutic and democratic community unique to the Buckinghamshire prison. The successful candidate will produce their own work and deliver an effective arts programme for the prison. They are seeking a dynamic, talented and highly motivated artist to lead on the visual arts programme within the prison. The Artist’s role is twofold: To produce new work in response to the experience of HMP Grendon, responding to its history, context and models of therapeutic and community practice: To involve the residents in the production of the new work and support their own creative activity for inclusion in the annual exhibition of Art at HMP Grendon. The annual fee in the region of £38,000 is offered for this post together with a dedicated Project Producer, generous materials and exhibition budget.
Expires: November 23, 2018
