Website: https://globalruralproject.wordpress.com/assembling-newtown-artist-commission/

Artist with skills and experience in public engagement and event design to work in Newtown, Powys. The Global-Rural Project is based at Aberystwyth University’s Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. It aims to advance understanding of the workings and impact of globalization in rural regions by examining histories, culture, economies, social structures, local and global networks and commodity chains. They wish to commission an artwork/project grounded in the Newtown experience that envisions the future of Newtown, captures the dynamism of modern life and the essence of being globally connected in a small town. The commission fee would be £5,000 for the work. There is a small budget available to cover cost of materials.
