BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art announces BALTIC 39 FIGURE FOUR, an open submission exhibition held at BALTIC 39. The exhibition is an opportunity for artists working across all media to test works and ideas, or to develop works in progress within a public context. Proposals that demonstrate an immediate benefit to the development of recent work or works in progress will be prioritised. Only work made during the past twelve months, currently in progress, or made for (or during) this exhibition will be considered. The exhibition will be on view to the public for 5 consecutive days during January-February 2017. Successful artists will be given an exhibitor’s fee of £400. A further amount of up to £200 will be provided to cover the cost of shipping, materials and other installation expenses. Artists will be awarded an additional amount of up to £200 to pay for events during the exhibition which may include openings, discussions and screenings. Artists will install their exhibitions themselves with their own solicited support, but will each be provided with one BALTIC technician for assistance and advice.
