British School at Rome Fellowships

The British School at Rome has a number of fellowships open for application. The Bridget Riley Fellowship is an opportunity for artists at an early to mid point in their career, whose work has a significant drawing element, to spend six months in Rome. It offers a grant of £1,500/month. The Sainsbury Scholarship in Painting and Sculpture is open to painters and sculptors under 32 who will also be able to submit a portfolio of recent drawings. It lasts 12 months and offers a grant of £700/month; plus grant for travel within Italy of £1,200. The Derek Hill Foundation Scholarship aims to encourage artists for whom the use of paint and/or drawing is central to their practice. It lasts 3 months (October-December 2017) and offers a grant of approx. £940/month plus travel allowance of £176 and contribution towards the transport of work of £184. Awards include board and accommodation in one of their artist’s studios. There is an application fee of £25.
