Elan Valley Artists’ Residencies Programme 2019 – 20
Applications are invited from visual artists for the 2019 – 20 Artists Residency programme in the Elan Valley, mid-Wales. Each artist will spend up to four weeks in the Elan Valley either in one block or spread over a period of six months from their appointment. Resident artists are invited to explore all aspects of the Elan Valley, including its landscape, ecology, culture and economy and to respond through their chosen medium by making work in response to this unique environment. Artists are invited to involve themselves with the life of the Elan Valley as a way of getting to know its residents and visitors. Alternatively, your visit could be an opportunity to try out new creative ideas in a sympathetic environment that welcomes experimentation and innovation for its own sake. Resident artists are encouraged to share their work publicly through exhibitions, presentations, screenings, readings and performances. Various venues are available for artists’ use including the Elan Valley Visitor Centre and the Rhayader Museum and Gallery. Each artist will receive a fee of £3,000 and free accommodation on site.
Expires: March 29, 2019
