The English Folk Dance and Song Society’s (EFDSS) visual arts exhibition programme at Cecil Sharp House focuses on exhibitions about the culture and community of folk arts and art that takes folk arts for its inspiration – encouraging the forging of links between traditional folk arts and contemporary arts practice. They aim to highlight the resource of the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library (VWML) and welcome new approaches to the material to achieve this. A limited exhibition budget covers exhibition signage costs and may be put towards installation materials as necessary, with approval of the organisation. They welcome exhibition proposals from curators, artists, designers and makers. They are especially interested in new work based on research undertaken in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library (VWML) and archives.
