Inter/sections Commission

Website: https://intersections.io/docs/artists-commission.pdf

Inter/sections is a symposium organised by students in the Media and Arts Technology (MAT) programme at Queen Mary, University of London. In September 2017, Inter/sections discusses issues of Politics and Ethics in Media and Arts Technology through a week-long program of workshops, talks, events and performances, and an exhibition of art. As part of this discussion, the Media and Arts Technology Centre for Doctoral Training at Queen Mary University of London announces the MAT Inter/sections Commission. Through a call for proposals, one or more artists will be asked to produce a new piece of media art for exhibition at Inter/sections 2017. This commission includes up to £1,000 to produce a work that reflects on the theme of Politics and Ethics in Media and Arts Technology. The selected artist(s) will exhibit their work at Inter/sections 2017 and deliver a talk about their practice and the development of the piece for MAT students. The award excludes travel to Inter/sections 2017, which will be provided.
