Jerwood Visual Arts Writer in Residence

Website:

The Writer in Residence engages with Jerwood Visual Arts’ programme of exhibitions and Project Space commissions, with the aim of opening up wider contextual debate around the enquiries and themes of each initiative. The main platform for this is the Writer in Residence Blog on which reflections, essays and interviews are posted. Previous writers have also utilised social media, delivered radio shows, produced audio or podcast responses. Several writers have also contributed to the events programme. Writers work remotely and engage with the programme through exhibition and event attendance, and contact with curators, artists and the Jerwood Visual Arts team. Writers are asked to deliver,on average,a response or activity every two weeks, however it is appreciated that more ambitious activities may take up more time. Applications are currently open for the second residency of 2016,spanning May – August 2016. The successful Writer in Residence applicant will receive an award of £750 (inclusive).

Expires: March 27, 2016
