John Moores Painting Prize 2020
The John Moore Painting Prize supports artists from all over the UK, whether they’re undiscovered, emerging or established in their careers, the prize provides a platform for artists to inspire, disrupt and challenge the British painting art scene today. The First Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of £25,000 and a solo display at the Walker Art Gallery. There are four further prizes of £2,500 and a Visitors Choice Prize of £2,020. This year they introduce the Emerging Artist Prize, the winner receive £2,500, plus premium art materials of the same value, they are also offered a residency and display at Colart along with some mentoring to support their artistic development. You can enter the competition if you’re aged 18 years or above on 24 March 2020 and live in the UK or are UK-based (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. It does not include the Republic of Ireland). There is a £30 entry fee.
