Kresen Kernow Public Art Commission
Website: https://kresenkernow.org/about-us/opportunities/
This is a call for artists interested in applying for a visual public art commission being offered by Cornwall Council for Kresen Kernow, the new archive centre in Redruth. Funded by Arts Council England, the artwork will be inspired by the theme My Cornwall: My Home and will commemorate the temporary return to Cornwall in 2021 of several historic Cornish manuscripts, including the Ordinalia. As part of the process of developing and realising the public artwork, the chosen artist is expected to work with Cornish community groups and the Archives and Cornish Studies Service (ACSS) team, to gain local knowledge and engagement. They are looking for a high-quality artwork which will intrigue, surprise, challenge and delight and which will draw people to Kresen Kernow and Redruth. The commission is worth £35,000. This will cover artist fees and all expenses connected to the realisation of the project.
Expires: March 1, 2021
