Time and Tide Bells Commission

Website: https://timeandtidebell.org/commission/

Time and Tide Bells commission is a major new commission for artwork around the UK coast in the Summer of 2021. Time and Tide Bells are installed at 7 locations round the UK coast, with 7 more under development. The project’s purpose is to celebrate and reinforce connections in local communities, between different parts of the country, between the land and sea, between ourselves and our environment. The bells contribute to each location’s identity – past, present and future – and serve as a focus and catalyst for dialogue, shared experience and community action. They also comment on rising sea levels. Expressions of Interest and invited outlining a project that will link the very varied bell communities to make the whole greater than the sum of the parts, and which will explore a core theme – changing sea levels. Shortlisted artists will be offered £500 to develop their ideas.

Expires: August 16, 2020
