Wirksworth Festival – The Lodge Project

The Lodge Project will enable an established artist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to undertake a funded residency, in the Derbyshire Dales, in July, August and September of 2020. They are looking for someone who is working in a two dimensional medium and doesn’t know the area. It is expected that the outcomes might reflect aspects of it from an outsider’s point of view – the landscape, diverse architecture, industrial past and community. The successful applicant will be provided, free of charge, with a fully furnished C18th century, 3 bedroom cottage, about 1 mile from the town of Wirksworth, Your own transport would be needed and no studio equipment is available. In addition to this the selected artists will receive a fee of £3,000. Applications are made by email to admin@wirksworthfestival.co.uk for the attention The Chair, this should include a proposal, of approx. 300 words, illustrating how you might approach the residency and what you would hope to achieve, with examples of relevant exhibitions or projects you may have led or taken part in.
