Wirksworth Festival – The Lodge Project
The Lodge Project will enable an established artist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to undertake a funded residency, in the Derbyshire Dales, in July, August and September of 2020. They are looking for someone who is working in a two dimensional medium and doesn’t know the area. It is expected that the outcomes might reflect aspects of it from an outsider’s point of view – the landscape, diverse architecture, industrial past and community. The successful applicant will be provided, free of charge, with a fully furnished C18th century, 3 bedroom cottage, about 1 mile from the town of Wirksworth, Your own transport would be needed and no studio equipment is available. In addition to this the selected artists will receive a fee of £3,000.
