London Sculpture Workshop (LSW)
London Sculpture Workshop (LSW) offers exceptional facilities for artists and those interested in making work in 3D. Located within Thames Side Studios, LSW has a superbly equipped metal and wood workshop with mould making and hot-metal areas.
It was established in 2012 by two artists who trained at RCA and the Slade. In 2013 & 2014 it was awarded a Chelsea Arts Club Trust ‘Artist run Space Award’. In 2016 LSW’s work was recognised and awarded a grant from the Mayor of London.
LSW is London’s first open access sculpture workshop, a not-for-profit, community interest based company offering exceptional facilities for artists and those interested in making work in 3D.
LSW has a superbly equipped metal and wood workshop with additional mould making and hot-metal areas. It is located within Thames Side Studios.
LSW offers an exciting variety of educational short courses. In addition to our short course programme we offer Open-Access to our facilities for those wishing to work independently.
Courses are suitable for all levels, from beginners to those wishing to refresh their skills or learn something new. All our tutors are practising artists.
Metalwork Courses include: Introduction to Welding, Welding for Artists, Stainless Steel Welding, Metal Fabrication for Artists & Designers and Sheet Copper Sculpture.
We also offer extensive Casting and Mould-Making courses including: Pewter Casting, Sand Casting with Aluminium, Silicone Mould-Making, Plaster Mould-Making, Plaster & Concrete Casting and Life Casting.
Our range of evening, weekend and sessional short courses also include Plaster Taster Course, Wax Modelling & Wood Furniture Construction. We are delighted to have announced new Ceramic courses for 2017.
