Own-it TV was a collaboration between Own-it, The Intellectual property advice service for the creative sector and Artquest. This series of craft focused films, explored many of the legal issues that makers face when showing, selling or distributing their work, presented through actual craft practice in a range of specialisms.
Each film comprises an interview with an artist about their work, and an aspect of operating as a creative business, such as – Showing at trade shows, creating a website, working as a sole trader or working with producers and manufacturers -. Each is accompanied by an overview of the legal implications of their activity by a legal specialist from Briffa and what practitioners can do to protect their ideas and designs with links to other resources that can help.
